Summarizing Standard Retail Inbound Needs | Approach to D365 for Commerce with Adv WH Mgmt

Hi Guys, Finally we have covered all the requirements about Retail Inbound Needs and you got a better insight into the needs and requirements tied to the Retail inbound or goods in process associated with Retail Warehouses. And hopefully, you got some of the main points which were in the receiving area how palletizers need to know where to place a case that’s been recently received in terms of whether it’s going to QC or prep.

In this series we talked about the details of a few of these other destinations beyond receiving that occur in the inbound process, like QC.

We talked about the sampling methodologies that retailers need you to support for QC and the different kinds of tests.

We then moved to the prep area or the inbound value added services area. We talked about the different kinds of prep activities and, also, about the importance of having the ability to get things to prep in a user directed fashion as well as using the system to divert things to prep automatically upon receipt.

Finally, we wrapped up with the case putaway process and the fact that they like to use or choose the putaway locations on their own in order to be efficient, which is a little bit different from other verticals, where they want the system to suggest the putaway location.

But we also pointed out that has some risks, and those risks need to be mitigated and guarded against by setting up D365 F&O Warehouse management in a certain way. We talked about how important it is to scan at the palletizing step to help facilitate that user directed putaway process.

So I hope all of this helps give you a better idea what you can expect from Retail Warehouse managers when you go to demo the software or to collect requirements and implement the D365 F&O Warehouse management module for the inbound processes.
